My son Jesse has been a student at NSMAC for 3 years now and will be 13 years old.  He has truly enjoyed the experience of building his endurance and achieving each level of karate while learning how to be respectful and kind to others.  His self-esteem has improved dramatically and he understands the true meaning of commitment.  We keep him enrolled in NSMAC because Bill Craig provides an atmosphere that is not overwhelming to children and he helps them recognize their true potential individually in regards to their physical and mental capabilities.  Many martial arts schools are intimidating and kids can become lost in large groups.  I find the laid-back atmosphere to be very appealing and Bill has always kept an "open door" policy for any concerns you may have regarding your children or school policies.  I believe that because of karate, my son has grown to be more confident and independent in his thinking and is very proud to be a student at NSMAC.

My son has been studying Kenpo at North Shore Martial Arts Center for over a year. After having him study within programs at other schools, I have finally found a place where I believe he can excel. North Shore Martial Arts Center is an amazing place that teaches children respect, self-control, confidence and compassion.  In addition to developing your child into a healthy well rounded individual, the environment is both engaging and extremely enjoyable for your child. You couldn't find a better instructor than Bill Craig. His patience and exceptional teaching methods will instantly allow your child to feel that they belong to something special. Bill combines his teachings with instructional games and lessons of life. The school's mission is also intertwined with your child's scholastic efforts, benefiting them there as well. Moving to North Shore Martial Arts Center was the best decision I made in 08. I look forward to my son's continued growth and achievement as a he works towards his Black belt.

Words can't describe how wonderful this school is. Both my sons have been attending for a little over a year now. They love their instructors Bill, Tom & Jaime. It is a great place where they take the time to push them when they need it & ease up also. They have learned so much & their self-esteem has soared. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

My grandsons have been going to NSMAC for a little more than a year. They absolutely love it. It has been a good outlet for them and it keeps them busy. I have seen a change in their attitude towards everything (for the better). The instructors really take the time to help them along at a good pace. They couldn't be happier. I highly recommend this place!!

I moved out to Melrose in July, and came across North Shore Martial Arts.  I decided to try out the fitness kickboxing classes on Tuesday and Thursday nights.  Overall I love it.  Bill is an awesome instructor and extremely helpful!  The classes are small and personable too, which I really like.  I highly recommend checking it out.  They have classes for all ages too! :)

After doing some research about different programs,  I decided to send my son to NSMA.  It's a great program and my son has been doing awesome!  He loves it!  It's tough for a kid starting something new, and the staff was truly helpful and encouraging every step of the way.  It's not just about fitness, it's about discipline, integrity, and goal achievement.  The staff is committed to helping each student excel not just in martial arts, but also in school, and the community.  It's amazing to watch my son's pride grow with each belt advancement.   He's learning so much that effects his whole sense of self.  I recommend this program to any parent I talk to about martial arts, it's just great!

As a mom of a young daughter, I cannot tell you how much she is changed in the last 6 years.  She entered the school a very timid, quiet and shy little girl, now she is very confident, positive and well-rounded girl.  She loves the classes and doesn't see it ever ending for her.  Since she is only 11, and does many other activities, they will always come after her Martial Arts training from NSMAC

I've been taking Kickboxing, and recently Jiu Jitsu, at this dojo for almost a year now, and I just love the environment, the people & the staff.  They are overall helpful and encouraging, especially when you're just starting out and need that extra push and instruction.  BIll, Tom & Jaime are all world class individuals!

I've been studying Karate at NSMAC for almost 10 years and it is one of the best Martial Arts schools I have studied at.  The school atmosphere is very encouraging and the environment is very conducive to learning as it is not intimidating as some martial arts schools can be.  The school is very well rounded as it encompasses a lot of different aspects of martial arts. The training has all the traditional learnings but incorporates the realistic side of how to defend yourself.  The adult classes are great and the learning is accommodating to any age range for adults.  The class atmosphere is welcoming and everyone is there to learn and help each other, no matter what belt level you are...no intimidation from anyone.  The children and teen classes, in addition to teaching them the art, also work on teaching discipline, integrity and many other principles...while mixing in some fun for them.   The pace is adapted to each individual as needed so the children can learn in the best environment for them...All the kids seem to really enjoy the classes.  I have also been an instructor at NSMAC for the last 5 1/2 years and I would not be working there if I did not believe in the school and it's principles.   I would definitely recommend NSMAC… and if Martial Arts is something you have been thinking about but hesitant to try, NSMAC is the right place for sure....
